Air New Zealand will start a twice-weekly service between the North Island city of Rotorua and Sydney from 12 December.
It will be operated on an Airbus A320, says an airline spokeswoman.
The new flight will be Rotorua's first international service. Air New Zealand will be the only carrier operating the route, according to Innovata.
