Icelandair will install IMS' Rave inflight entertainment system on its Boeing 757 fleet.
The airline operates 19 of the aircraft type, according to Flightglobal's Ascend online database.
Icelandair's maintenance arm, Icelandair Technical Services, will start installations of the seat-centric system in early 2013.
The Rave is a seatback system that includes all of the audio and video content in one device for each passenger, which reduces the risk of a passenger going without entertainment in case one of the units fails during a flight. If this occurs, cabin crew can use a key to unlock the system from the seatback and install another one immediately.
IMS has orders to install the system on more than 160 aircraft and adds Icelandair as its eleventh airline customer.
