Arik Air is looking at the possibility of introducing direct flights to India following a meeting with the Indian high commissioner to Nigeria, who visited the carrier’s Lagos offices.

“This visit to Arik Air is the first stage in building an initial bridge of understanding. The airline will decide the potential and viability of a partnership,” said Ajjampur Rangalah Ghanashyam following the meeting.

There are currently no direct services between Nigeria and India, with most traffic transferring via Istanbul, Dubai and Addis Ababa.
