Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) has sent one of its ARJ21-700s to the National Flight Test Centre outside Xian for tests.

The ARJ21-700 flew yesterday from Shanghai to Xian, which took 2hr and 19min, making it the aircraft's longest test flight so far, the state-run Xinhua news agency says in a report.

The National Flight Test Centre is the main testing location for civil and military aircraft in China.

Comac is working to get Chinese certification for the ARJ21-700, which is due to be delivered to its first airline customer, Kunpeng Airlines, in late 2010, a senior Kunpeng official told ATI in May.
