Middle Eastern carrier Emirates is putting the daily cost of the European flight disruption to its operations at $10 million.

Emirates Airline president Tim Clark, in a presentation on 20 April, said around 30 of its aircraft were grounded.

"We have about 20% of our fleet sitting in Dubai doing very little," he adds.

The carrier has had to cancel around 250 flights and, at one point, was spending $1 million per day accommodating up to 6,000 passengers.

"We have not had much relief, although at one point we thought we might have got it," says Clark who, during the presentation, detailed the difficulties Emirates has been experiencing in coping with the crisis.
