Two Asian carriers plan to begin operating the first non-stop flights between Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Macau.

Air Macau will start daily flights on the route from today, operating Airbus A320 family aircraft, says Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.

From 1 January 2011, Shanghai Airlines will begin operating on the route as well. It will fly daily between the two cities, adds the airport. The airline will operate Boeing 737 aircraft on the route.
