Asiana Airlines' net loss widened to won (W) 482 million ($433,000) in the first quarter of 2013 from W19 million in the same period last year.
For the quarter ended 31 March, the South Korean carrier's revenue increased by 0.4% to W14.2 billion from W14.1 billion.
The airline recorded an operating loss of W211 million, compared with an operating income of W471 million a year earlier.
International passenger traffic for the first quarter, as measured in RPKs, grew by 7.5% and capacity as measured in ASKs rose by 7.1%. Its international passenger load factor increased by 0.3 percentage points year on year to 78%.
On the cargo front, cargo traffic for the reporting period rose by 5.9% and capacity increased by 6.8% year on year.
The carrier's cargo load factor, on the other hand, decreased by 0.7 percentage points year on year to 80%.
