South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines has issued corporate bonds with a three-year term, valued at W100 billion ($92.4 million).

The bonds were given a "BBB+" rating, the airline said in a statement.

The bond issue will "secure [its] corporate operating fund", says a spokesman, and will be used to cover operating expenses such as fuel and lease payments.

Asiana also plans to raise a further W400-500 billion, although the spokesman did not specify a timeline for the fundraising.
