Italian MRO provider Atitech has been granted EASA Part 145 approval by Italy's civil aviation regulator ENAC for maintenance provision on Boeing 767 aircraft.
The first of the widebodies to be handled by Atitech, an Alitalia 767, has already entered its facility at Capodichino airport in Naples, it says.
Atitech has invested in equipment, infrastructure and facilities, alongside staff training, to gain the new approval as part of its recovery plan.
It already has Part 145 approval for maintenance on Airbus A320-family aircraft alongside Boeing 737 and MD-80 types.
The MRO provider is majority owned by Manutenzioni Aeronautiche, a division of investment firm Meridie, alongside Finmeccanica and Alitalia.
