German turboprop maintenance specialist Rheinland Air Service will build a second hangar after becoming an MRO partner of ATR.
The aircraft manufacturer has selected RAS to become the first European member of its MRO facility network.
Mönchengladbach-based RAS specialises in heavy maintenance for ATR 42s, 72s, Bombardier Dash 8s, Dornier 328s and Fokker 27s, among other types.
It also provides line maintenance for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 narrowbodies.
To accommodate the expected business from ATR – a joint venture between EADS amd Alenia Aermacchi – the MRO provider is to double its capacity by building a second hangar, says Walter Lange, RAS's chief operations officer.
