Aircraft manufacturer ATR's new flight training centre in Singapore has received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and will be inaugurated in mid-December.

The EASA certification of the training centre gives it long-term operational approval of flight training equipment that includes the full-flight simulator for the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600, the maintenance/flight simulation training devices and a brief/debrief station.

The centre, which is located at Seletar Aerospace Park, will provide training programmes, including flightcrew type rating and recurrent training.

ATR has more than 250 aircraft in operation in Asia-Pacific and another 80 aircraft in backlog for airlines operating in the region.
