The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating an incident where a Jetstar Airways' Airbus A320 took off from Sydney Airport with an incorrect setting on its flaps and slats.

Flight crew of the aircraft, registered VH-VFU, had prepared for the aircraft to depart from runway 34L on the Sydney-Adelaide route. The incident took placed on 28 July.

An incorrect flap/slat setting was selected when the flight crew configured the aircraft, and the jet departed with the incorrect setting, says the ATSB.

None of the flight crew or passengers on board were injured. The ATSB has classified the case as an "incorrect configuration" and is expecting investigations to conclude within “several months”.
