Auckland airport's international passenger numbers, excluding transits, increased by 0.1% year on year to 720,000 in January.
Australian routes performed strongly in the accounting period, with passenger numbers increasing by 6.8% year on year, says the airport.
International passenger numbers, including transits, fell by 2.1% to 761,000, while domestic passenger numbers rose by 13% to 537,000.
Total aircraft movements at the airport grew by 2.8% to 13,100. International aircraft movements declined by 3.6% to 3,890, while domestic aircraft movements rose by 5.8% to 9,260.
Queenstown airport had a strong performance in the reporting month, with international passenger numbers increasing by 27% and domestic passenger numbers rising by 7.9% year on year.
