Auckland International Airport says it will soon confirm plans for the development of a new terminal and increase its passenger handling capacity.
The master plan, when it is released, will provide the details for airfield and terminal development in order to "uncap" long-term visitor growth potential, says the airport's chairwoman Joan Withers.
"This will involve confirming the timing of the delivery of an eventual new terminal facility, particularly for domestic travel. We are also implementing some short-term fixes at the existing domestic terminal to improve some of its constraints while we work on delivering the best long-term solution," she added at the company's annual general meeting.
The airport did not provide any further details on when the plan will be released and how much passenger handling capacity it will add.
