Australia's Skywest appoints Jason Bitter as CEO

Australian regional airline Skywest has appointed Jason Bitter as its chief executive, with effect from 6 March.

Bitter replaces Mark Shelton, who has stepped down as Skywest's chief executive for personal reasons.

Bitter has served at a senior level for various airlines in Europe, North Africa, India, Asia and North America, including chief operating officer of Spicejet, chief executive of SkyEurope and has also worked with Air Arabia Maroc.

Most recently, Bitter was assisting with the launch of Peach Aviation in Japan, a low-cost subsidiary of All Nippon Airways.
