Myanma investigators are seeking Australian assistance for their inquiries into the Air Bagan Fokker 100 crash at Myanmar's Heho airport.

The aircraft (XY-AGC) came down on approach to Heho on 25 December and, while nearly everyone on board survived, the jet was completely destroyed.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigators are to download data from the cockpit-voice and flight-data recorders retrieved from the twinjet, the organisation states.

It adds that it has appointed an accredited representative to assist Myanmar's air accident investigation authority.
