Australian regional carrier Skywest has posted a consolidated net loss after tax of Singapore dollars (S$) 2.2 million ($1.78 million) in the first half of its fiscal year, compared with a net profit of S$4.5 million a year ago.
Group revenue for the six months to 31 December increased by 19% year on year to S$173 million, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortisation and aircraft rentals totalled S$26.2 million. Carbon tax impact was S$2 million.
Skywest expects to add an Airbus A320 in March and two additional ATR 72 aircraft by the end of June. The airline adds that it is considering to acquire two more A320s.
