Austrian Airlines Group has appointed Paul Paflik as ground operations vice-president, replacing Rainer Walther who is retiring.

Paflik, who will take up his new role on 1 July, will be responsible for Austrian Airlines Group's aircraft, passenger, baggage and third party ground-handling.

Since joining Austrian Airlines in 1984, Paflik has held a number of roles. He has worked in industry affairs, been head of strategic co-operation, head of long-haul network development and general manager for the Americas.
