The first of 18 Eurofighter Typhoons in production for Austria made its first test flight from EADS's Manching site near Munich last week, flying for about 1h. Temporarily given German air force markings, aircraft 7L-WA will be joined in flight test by a second Austrian platform that will make its debut sortie during April. A further four aircraft are now in final assembly in Germany, with deliveries to the Austrian air force's Zeltweg airbase to begin later this year.
