An Avianca Airbus A330 diverted to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on 14 September after the aircraft's flight crew detected a fuel leak.
The aircraft was flying from Buenos Aires to Bogota when its pilots received a fuel leak indication, says the Star Alliance carrier. The crew decided to divert to Santa Cruz as a "safety precaution", it adds.
The A330 landed safely at the airport at 11:58 local time, with 252 passengers and 10 crew members on board. Avianca says that it is carrying out inspections on the aircraft.
Most of the passengers were subsequently flown to Bogota from Santa Cruz on an Avianca Airbus A320, while the remaining passengers were flown to Lima, where they boarded flights operated by other carriers for their final destinations.
