Colombia's Avianca and Chile's Sky Airline have signed an agreement to codeshare on flights within Colombia and Chile from 31 May.
The agreement complements a similar codeshare agreement signed in October 2011 between Taca Peru and Sky. Avianca and Taca merged in 2010.
Sky passengers travelling from Santiago to Bogota will be able to connect to Avianca flights to Barranquilla, Cali, Cartagena, Medellin, San Andres and Santa Marta, under the latest agreement.
Avianca passengers travelling to Santiago can connect to Sky flights to Iquique, Calama, Puerto Natales, Antofagasta, Copiapo, Concepción, Temuco, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas in return.
"Implementation of this codeshare alliance with Sky Airline is an important step for Avianca-Taca, allowing us to consolidate our route network and the destinations available in the south of the continent. This increases the connection options and services for the customers of both airlines that travel in the region," says Avianca-Taca's chief executive Fabio Villegas in a statement.
