Avianca has chosen Panasonic Avionics' eX1 in-flight entertainment system for 28 new Airbus A320s.

The Colombian carrier will install the system, which includes 11in (27.9cm) screens in business class and 9in screens in the economy class cabin. The business class seats will also feature touch-screen handsets. The IFE offering will also feature power outlets in each business class seat as well as every row in economy class.

"Avianca's A320 interiors have been completely redesigned under the airline's new brand image, offering passengers a renewed and improved onboard experience," says Estuardo Ortiz, Avianca's chief operating officer. "We chose Panasonic to continue our work together, striving to deliver a world class service to our customers."

In 2008, Avianca selected Panasonic's eX2 inflight entertainment system for its Airbus A330 aircraft. The eX1 offering is designed specifically for single-aisle aircraft.
