Latin American carrier Avianca-Taca has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rolls-Royce for Trent 700 engines to power the four Airbus A330-200 freighter aircraft it ordered in September.

The contract includes the Rolls-Royce TotalCare long-term engine services and support programme.

The aircraft will be operated by the carrier's subsidiary, Tampa-Cargo. The MoU is subject to final contractual agreement, the company added.
