Latin American airline group AviancaTaca grew its first quarter operating profit by 31% to $108 million.
The group's operating revenue rose 6% to $1.11 billion for the three months ended 31 March, says the Star Alliance carrier.
Net profit grew more than $75 million to $75.3 million in the first quarter.
Passenger traffic rose 7.8% and capacity grew 5.4%. The systemwide passenger load factor grew to 80.8%. The airline's cost per available seat kilometre declined by 1.85%, says the airline.
AviancaTaca added four aircraft to its fleet during the first quarter: an Airbus A330, two A320s and one A330 Freighter.
