Latin American carrier group AviancaTaca is looking for financing to cover its upcoming Airbus A319 aircraft deliveries, say financiers.
The group has approached financiers with a request for proposals for funding on five A319s deliveries in 2013, sources indicate.
Separately, AviancaTaca saw a boost in operating profits and revenues during the second quarter of 2012 when compared with the year-earlier period.
The Colombian airline group generated revenues of Ps1.8 trillion ($1 billion) in the second quarter, which is a 12.9% increase when compared to 2011.
AviancaTaca also saw operating income of Ps40.1 million in the second quarter. Net profit increased 334.3% compared to 2011 to Ps8.8 million.
The group added an Airbus A319 and an A320 to its fleet, and removed a Boeing 757 from service during the second quarter.
