Latin American airline group AviancaTaca is expected to mandate financing on its new ATR aircraft fleet next month, following the closing of its bidding process last week.
The group approached financiers with a request for proposals asking for export credit agency-guaranteed bids covering its new ATR 72-600 aircraft.
According to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database, Avianca-TACA will receive three aircraft of the type this year. The first delivery is scheduled for June, followed by two more aircraft in August and September.
In 2014, a total of nine aircraft will join the fleet while the remaining three are due in 2015.
AviancaTaca placed the 15-aircraft order in December 2012 with options for another 15, in a deal valued at almost $700 million.
The new aircraft will replace AviancaTaca's ageing fleet of Fokker 50s and ATR 42s.
