Chinese aircraft parts supplier Chengdu Aircraft has delivered the first set of ailerons and spoilers for the Boeing 747-8.

Chengdu, a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), delivered the set on 25 November, says AVIC.

The supplier signed a deal with Boeing in April 2007 to supply the aircraft's ailerons and spoilers, and subsequently signed another contract to manufacture horizontal stabiliser parts and subassemblies for the 747-8.

Chengdu plans to deliver another two sets of ailerons and spoilers by year-end, says AVIC. In 2011, it will ramp up the production rate to up to two sets monthly.
