Icelandic transport investment firm Avion Group’s chief financial officer Steingrimur Petursson has resigned.

Petursson joined Avion as chief financial officer in June 2005 when it acquired shipping firm Eimskip, where he had worked since 2004.

Although Petursson has resigned from his role, he will retain his role on the boards of Eimskip, wet lease operator Air Atlanta Icelandic and Avion Aircraft Trading.

During the 2007 financial year Avion Group is expecting to generate $1.8 billion in turnover and an EBITDA of $170 million.
