Dublin-based lessor Avolon Aerospace has further expanded its portfolio with the addition of a pair of Boeing 737-800s.
One unit was acquired new from Air Berlin, Flightglobal’s Ascend Fleets database shows. The aircraft was placed under a lease agreement with Thailand’s Nok Air.
The second 737-800 is on lease to India’s Jet Airways.
Both additions were financed using the lessor’s portfolio financing facilities, says a source.
The transactions follow last month’s acquisition of three Airbus A320s and a 737-800 with leases attached to Asian carriers.
The lessor purchased a pair of 2013-vintage A320s on lease to Japanese budget carrier Peach Aviation. Another A320 was purchased on lease to Garuda’s Citilink.
Avolon also purchased a 2011-built 737-800 leased to Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines.
