Dublin-based AWAS has reached an agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas to extend the lease of an Airbus A340-300 widebody aircraft.

The 1995-vintage aircraft (MSN 094) had been in operation with Aerolíneas Argentinas since May 2010, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database.

The operating lessor will also place a new 737-800 aircraft with Aerolineas from its new order pipeline. The transaction represents the third 737-800 leased to Aerolíneas. The 737-800 is part of the airline's on-going fleet modernisation and optimisation programme.
