Dublin-based operating lessor AWAS had funded a new Airbus A320 delivery with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).

The Australian bank provided a commercial loan on a limited-recourse basis.

The aircraft (MSN 5979) is the sixth of nine A320 delivered to Thai Airways under an operating lease agreement.

It will be deployed by the carrier’s subsidiary Thai Smile on domestic routes and to destinations in China, India and the ASEAN region, says the lessor.

AWAS delivered the first A320 to the Thai low-cost carrier last October. The remaining three are scheduled for delivery in 2014.
