Operating lessor AWAS placed one Airbus A330-200 (MSN 296) passenger aircraft on lease to Ukrainian charter carrier Windrose Airlines. This aircraft comes from AWAS' existing aircraft portfolio.

Volodymyr Kamenchuk, general director of Windrose says, "Continuing our pioneering traditions, we are very happy and proud to be the first operator of an A330 in Ukraine. We are confident that the operation of a modern long-haul aircraft will further strengthen our leading position in the Ukrainian charter market."

Kamenchuk said in June the carrier was looking to launch long-range services using two A330-200s.

Windrose plans to increase its traffic to more than 1 million passengers in 2013, up from 930.000 last year. Its net profit was Hr13 million ($1.6 million) on income of Hr1.35 billion in 2012.
