AWAS raised financing through a mix of commercial debt and own cash to finance a five-aircraft portfolio acquired from BOC Aviation.
The operating lessor tells Flightglobal that Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank were the lenders in the transaction.
The portfolio includes an Airbus A320 that has a lease attached to Etihad Airways and a 2010-vintage Boeing 737-800 on lease to Shandong Airlines. Both airlines will become new lessees for AWAS.
AWAS also acquired a 2010-vintage A320 on lease to Spring Airlines as well as one 737-700 and a 737-800 leased to WestJet Airlines.
"AWAS is continuing our prudent growth initiative to acquire superior assets on lease to strong airlines," says the lessor's head of aircraft trading Carter White.
