Azerbaijan Airlines has fixed a date to open its New York JFK service, intending to start operating the route on 24 September.
The carrier will serve JFK twice-weekly from Baku.
Azerbaijan Airlines describes the new flights as a “milestone” in its development.
It will operate Airbus A340s on the route. The carrier has two A340-500s in its fleet.
Azerbaijan Airlines says it will offer transfer services at Baku to regional destinations including Tbilisi, Tehran, Bishkek and Aktau.
