Azerbaijan Airlines has extended its Airbus A340 spare-parts supply agreement with AJ Walter Aviation.
The airline renewed its contract to use AJW’s rotable component pool for five years. The flight hour-based deal covers equipment for the carrier’s two A340-500s, says the UK spare-parts specialist.
In 2012, AJW managed the sale of the two long-haul aircraft from the manufacturer to Azerbaijan Airlines.
Built in 2008, the Rolls-Royce Trent 500-powered jetliners were originally intended for India’s Kingfisher Airlines, but never joined the defunct carrier’s fleet.
Azerbaijan Airlines took delivery of the aircraft in 2013 after they had undergone cabin reconfiguration and exterior repainting managed by AJW.
