Azerbaijan Airlines has taken delivery of two Airbus A340-500s which were acquired from the airframer by AJW Capital Partners last year.
AJW had not identified the customer for the aircraft when it purchased them. But Azerbaijan Airlines told Flightglobal last November that it was planning to take delivery of two A340-500s in early 2013.
The Rolls-Royce Trent 500-powered aircraft have undergone maintenance, a cabin and galley reconfiguration, modification of their in-flight entertainment systems, and been repainted in a new Azerbaijani livery.
AJW describes the transaction as a "significant integrated purchase and refit deal". It says the work included "nose-to-tail completion" undertaken by a European-approved facility.
"We successfully completed this project well ahead of the timeline specified by [the carrier]," says AJW Aviation technical director Deepak Sharma.
Azerbaijan Airlines has previously said it intends to use the jets on services to Asian and American destinations.
