Azerbaijani cargo carrier Silk Way Airlines has ordered two Boeing 747-8 Freighters.

The deal has a list-price value of $704 million.

Flightglobal's Ascend Online database lists three 747-400F and two 767-300ERF aircraft in the Baku-based airline's fleet, alongside an Antonov An-12 and nine Ilyushin Il-76s.

Silk Way operates services to destinations in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.

At 30 June, there were 29 747-8Fs in the Boeing backlog. Deliveries of the freighter stand at 36.
