Brazilian low-cost carrier Azul has launched flights to Santa Maria in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The airline will operate nine times weekly between Santa Maria and Porto Alegre with ATR 72-600 aircraft.
Santa Maria will be Azul's fifth destination in the state, it says. The others are Passo Fundo, Pelotas, Porto Alegre and Caxias do Sul.
Brazilian regional carrier Brava Linhas Aereas operates between Santa Maria and Porto Alegre, where it is based. Brava operates 19-seat Let L-410 aircraft.
