Brazilian carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas has closed the sale and leaseback of a new ATR 72-600 aircraft with Danish lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC).
MSN 1100 is the first aircraft on a financing mandate covering five ATR 72-600s. Two additional deliveries are expected later this month while the balance is due in January.
The transaction marks the first time since 2008 that NAC has leased an aircraft in Brazil. It previously placed aircraft with Pantanal Linhas Aéreas and later with TRIP Linhas Aéreas.
Nordic Aviation Capital is expected to finance the acquisitions using its own cash resources.
