Brazil's Azul will add more frequencies on two domestic routes from its base at Viracopos-Campinas from September.
The carrier will add an additional weekday flight on each of its routes to Brasilia and Ribeirão Preto. Azul operates 44 flights weekly between Viracopos and Brasilia, and 32 flights weekly between Viracopos and Ribeirão Preto, schedules in Innovata show.
Azul competes against Gol and TAM on the Brasilia route, and is the only airline operating to Ribeirão Preto from Viracopos.
The carrier also received regulatory approval to add an additional weekday flight between Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont and Sao Paulo Guarulhos from 8 September. Azul operates on this route 43 times weekly, shows Innovata. Gol offers competition with 60 weekly flights.
Separately, Azul plans to launch service connecting Viracopos and Sao Jose dos Campos via Cabo Frio, with continuing service back to Viracopos. It will operate on this route six times weekly.
