BA axes Saudi services

British Airways is to suspend services to Saudi Arabia from 27 March, leaving Saudi Arabian Airlines as the only carrier operating between London Heathrow and Jeddah and Riyadh. It is axing the flights because reduced passenger demand is making the routes unprofitable. BA suspended flights to the country in August 2003 for several days because of security concerns.
