British Airways is to start operating the Airbus A380 to Washington Dulles next year and has listed several new destinations in Asia and North America for its Boeing 787 fleet.
The Washington A380 service will commence in September 2014. BA will use the aircraft five times per week on the transatlantic link. The US capital will become the fourth BA route for the double-deck type, after Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Johannesburg.
Oneworld alliance member BA says it will serve Hyderabad, in India, with 787s from the end of March, and deploy the twinjet to the Chinese city of Chengdu from May. It will also use 787s to serve Philadelphia from June and Calgary from July.
BA only started operating the Chengdu route in September this year. The airline says it will increase frequency from thrice-weekly to five-times weekly when the 787s begin flying the sector.
