Bahamas awards ATC radar contract

The Bahamas Government  has today awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman for an air traffic control system to be installed at Nassau International Airport.

Northrop Grumman’s Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector division will supply the airport with an ASR-9 primary radar co-mounted with a monopulse secondary surveillance radar and an upgraded, automated airspace management system.

Initial operational capability is scheduled for August 2001. Contract terms are not being disclosed.
