Middle Eastern carrier Bahrain Air is to wet-lease an Airbus A319 aircraft to Nepalese private operator Alpine Air.
Bahrain Air says the agreement with the "upcoming and promising" Nepalese company will act as an extension beyond its own Kathmandu service.
Alpine Air is to lease the aircraft initially for nine months and use it from June on the Kathmandu-Delhi route, although this is subject to governmental authorisation.
Bahrain Air managing director Ibrahim Al-Hamer sealed the agreement with Alpine Air chief Surendra Malla in the Gulf state.
Middle Eastern carrier Air Arabia, of the United Arab Emirates, had previously engaged on a joint project, FlyYeti, with Nepal's Yeti Airlines.
