Bank of China closed financing on four more new Boeing 737-800s for China Southern Airlines in December 2013, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
The aircraft were delivered in 2013 to the Shanghai-based operator.
One 737-800 is now operated by Zhuhai Airlines, another by Shantou Airlines. The remaining two 737-800s are operated by China Southern.
The bank also financed a new Airbus A321 delivery for the Chinese carrier. The aircraft was delivered in June 2013.
Ascend Online shows that China Southern operates 99 737-800s and has another 31 on order.
The carrier is taking 17 new 737-800s this year, including nine units on lease from GECAS and four from Air Lease. The remaining four will be owned.
