A syndicate of Japanese and German banks led by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation have closed financing on a new Airbus A321 aircraft for operating lessor Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC).
MSN 5418 is the fifth unit out of 10 under a leasing agreement between VALC and Vietnam Airlines.
The A321 aircraft is financed with a 12-year export credit agency-guaranteed loan fronted by Germany's Euler Hermes. Lenders include Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, KfW Ipex-Bank, Landesbank Hessen - Thuringen Girozentrale (Helaba) and AKA Export Finance Bank.
VALC has five more deliveries scheduled through April 2013, according to Flightglobal's Ascend online database. Another A321 aircraft is expected to be delivered by the end of December 2012.
