Delta Air Lines has finalized its post-merger management team now that it has won approval from US Justice Department authorities to merge with Northwest Airlines.

Ed Bastian, Delta president and chief financial officer has moved to Minneapolis to oversee Northwest while it is integrated into the Atlanta-based carrier. Delta named 10-year veteran Hank Halter to the role of senior vice president and CFO to replace Bastian in Atlanta.

Delta CEO Richard Anderson says the carrier has named Mike Becker to serve as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Northwest to support Bastian in managing the unit, which will officially be NWA Inc. Delta executive Steve Gorman is being promoted to the role of chief operating officer and executive vice president of Delta. Gorman joined Delta in late 2007 after serving at Krispy Kreme and the Greyhound bus line.

To replace Al Lenza, the veteran Northwest marketing and distribution executive, Delta has elevated Tim Mapes, formerly head of marketing for Delta's low-cost unit, Song, and marketing vice president. Mapes is now a senior vice president, while veteran Northwest marketing executive Jim Cron will be senior vice president of sales and distribution. Northwest network planner Tom Bach has a new role in Delta revenue management as the senior vice president. Gail Grimmett, now Delta's revenue management chief, takes on a new role as senior vice president for New York.

Two long-time Delta sales figures are leaving: Lee Macenczak, executive vice president for sales and marketing, and Pam Elledge, vice president for sales and distribution, will leave the company. Delta general counsel and executive vice president Ken Khoury is leaving, as is Delta's senior Washington affairs representative, D. Scott Yohe.

Delta also plans to retain Tammy Lee Stanoch, now the Northwest corporate communications director, as vice president for communications in Minneapolis. She will report to the company's newly-hired director of corporate communications, Ned Walker, who is joining Delta from Continental, and to Andrea Fischer Newman, the veteran Northwest government and public affairs executive.

These changes are in addition to previously announced changes including promotion of Glenn Hauenstein to senior vice president of revenue and network for the combined carrier from Delta
