Zodiac Aerospace subsidiary MAG Aerospace Industries has filed a complaint in US District Court alleging that B/E Aerospace has infringed patents for its technology.

The complaint focuses on technology used in B/E Aerospace's Aircraft Ecosystems vacuum toilet.

"B/E Aerospace firmly believes that there is no infringement of the MAG Aerospace patents," says the cabin interiors supplier in a statement responding to the complaint. "Shipments to Boeing of B/E's modular lavatory systems have begun and will continue."

The cabin interiors supplier says it has been granted several patents from the United States Patent Office related to the vacuum technology, including one called "Vacuum Waste System and Method for Using the Same."

"The B/E Aerospace technology and patent suite have been very carefully developed and the MAG Aerospace relevant patents and technology have been cited by B/E Aerospace in its patent applications with the United States Patent Office," says the supplier in the statement.

The complaint was filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California's Western Division in Los Angeles.
