Biman Bangladesh Airlines has approached operators, aircraft's owners, manufacturers as well as leasing companies with a request for proposals (RFP) for the dry lease of two Boeing 777-200/200ER aircraft.
According to the terms of the RFP, Biman is seeking two-class configuration aircraft and intends to operate the 777s for a period of five years.
The deadline for proposals is 12 May as the carrier intends to commence the lease from July.
Biman also extended the bidding period for this year Hajj operation by three weeks to 21 April.
The carrier approached the market in March with an RFP for the lease of two widebody aircraft on ACMI (wet) basis. Biman is looking at 747-400 offerings no older than 20 years of age with a minimum seating capacity of 450, according to the terms of the RFP.
The aircraft will be operated between 6 September and 9 October (pre-hajj phase), while the post-hajj phase is scheduled between 19 October and 19 November.
Offers initially had to be submitted by 31 March.
