Law firm Bird & Bird has hired Leo Fattorini for its International Aviation Group.

Fattorini, who has over 10 years' experience in the aviation industry, most recently with Virgin Atlantic and previously as part of the aircraft finance team at DLA Piper, will be based in the Singapore office.

Leo has "hands on" experience of all legal issues airlines must deal with and a background in acting for lessors and financiers, says Bird & Bird. This has included aircraft financing and leasing, negotiating sale and purchase agreements and all forms of aircraft commercial agreements.

"Brett Hailey's recruitment in London earlier this year gave us big ticket aircraft finance capability. Now Leo has joined we have practical "touching the metal" capability in Asia to advise airlines, lessors and investors on all legal issues," said co-head of the International Aviation Group Paul Briggs.
